Research Guides
For help with improving research skills and study skills, have a look at the “How To” page or watch some of the Presentations that I have made to help our staff and students.
Teachers: Research Guides or Pathfinders, together with our other Library Services, can support your work in these kinds of ways:
- I can build collections of links to evaluated websites—just give me the topic, the year group, and a timescale and I will build a Research Guide for you to use in the classroom or for your students’ homework or coursework.
- It is also possible to add YouTube videos, documents and presentations to the Research guide, together with instructions for your students. A downloadable copy of the worksheet could be useful too!
- I can purchase library resources to support your topic, then link to them from the Research Guide.
- I can borrow resource collections from our Schools Library Service for you to use in the classroom or to be kept in the Library.
- I am also happy to work with you to support research skills in the Library, and ICT room or your classroom.
Students: I have asked our teachers to tell me topics for homework or coursework that they would like me to develop into Research Guides. I will link to them from this site when they are ready. If you know of a topic that you think would make a good Research Guide, please talk to your teacher!
